California Republic Flag |
|
The California Republic flag design is based on the flag hoisted in Sonoma on the 14th day of June, 1846 when a group of Americans proclaimed an independent California republic. The design was chosen because the felt the grizzly is a symbol of strength. It is the predecessor to the modern day California flag. Each California Republic flag is dyed on 100% nylon fabric and finished with a canvas header and brass grommets.
