Description

Represent your Azerbaijani heritage or celebrate past travels by displaying the national flag of Azerbaijan!

Our Azerbaijan flags are manufactured in the United States from high-quality nylon fabric, a lightweight material that flies easily in gentle breezes. Nylon’s lightness also means it can dry quickly after rain, helping prevent mildew growth. The flag’s vivid colors are digitally printed for clarity and UV resistance. This helps prevent sun damage to your flag, even when flown in direct sunlight.

Each flag comes equipped with a strong canvas heading and brass grommets for easy installation on an outdoor flagpole. Refer to our table of flagpole heights and the recommended size for each to decide which flag size best suits your needs.

Are you interested in a ceremonial version? Our indoor Azerbaijan country flag, adorned with gold fringe, is an excellent choice for formal displays.

Azerbaijan Flag Meaning & History

The Azerbaijani flag was first adopted on November 9, 1918. However, in 1920, the USSR annexed Azerbaijan, after which the flag's display was banned. Following the dissolution of the USSR and Azerbaijan’s regained independence in 1991, the original tricolor flag was re-adopted. In 2013, the shades of the colored stripes were modified slightly.

Each stripe has a specific meaning: Blue is for the Turkic ethnic background of many of Azerbaijan’s citizens, red represents progress and democracy, and green is for the majority religion of Islam. The crescent moon and star are also symbols of Islam. However, historians have not come to a consensus on why the star has eight points.
