Indoor Military Flags
Our inventory of indoor flags allows you to show your support for each branch of the military. Each military flag with gold fringe, or silver fringe in the case of the Space Force, is available in sizes 3’ x 5’, 4’ x 6’, and 5’ x 8’.
Fringe is used as an “honorable enrichment” for indoor flags and requires different care than outdoor flags. Additionally, it is required to have fringe on military flags when used in parades.
Fringe is delicate and requires respect and care. While these flags can be used outside for parade purposes, general display use should keep the flag stationary and indoors. Indoor flags must be displayed inside to keep the fringe beautiful and clean.
How to Display Military Flags Indoors
We also offer indoor flagpole sets for properly displaying your new flag. For military flags, we recommend using our oak pole topped with an army spear ornament.
Respect the fringe: Flags with fringe shouldn’t be posted directly on a wall or flown on an outdoor flagpole. If you don’t have the space for a floor-based display set, we carry a mahogany wall-mounted pole specifically for indoor flags.
Indoor Military Flags Order
If you plan to display the flags of the US Armed Forces alongside other flags, such as the American flag, a state flag, and the POW/MIA flag, those three should be first in that order.
The order of military flags during times of peace is then as follows:
During times of war, the Coast Guard flag should be placed after the Navy flag.
