Description
Show off your national pride for the country of Switzerland with a high-quality flag!
Each Swiss flag is made in America from 100% nylon fabric, creating a durable and sturdy flag ideal for both outdoor and indoor display. Nylon is a lightweight material, ensuring your flag will fly regally in the breeze, and dry quickly after becoming wet, helping prevent mildew growth. The classic red and white cross design is digitally printed for vivid colors that are fade-resistant, even when flown in full sun.
The flag of Switzerland comes equipped with a strong canvas header and brass grommets for use with an outdoor flagpole. The 3’ by 5’ flag is our most popular size and is an excellent fit for our 6’ tangle-free flagpole. Not sure which flag size best suits your display setup? Switzerland Flag Meaning & History
Switzerland’s flag holds a unique status: Apart from the flag of Vatican City, it is the only national square flag worldwide constructed with a 1:1 ratio. The flag we offer comes in a 2:3 ratio, Switzerland's official civil and state ensign.
The white Swiss cross has a long history, starting in the late 13th century. The Old Swiss Confederacy used it as a field sign, a mark used to identify group members. The confederation was a loose organization of several independent states within the Holy Roman Empire, formally achieving independence in 1648 through the Treaty of Westphalia. The modern flag of Switzerland was officially adopted on October 11, 1841, when it was declared the uniting symbol of the Swiss cantons.
