U.S. Flag Manufacturers Deemed Not Essential

The coronavirus hit America where it hurts, and thousands of businesses were shut down with only some being deemed essential. Due to strict shelter-in-place orders, the US flag making industry has been unable to keep up with demands.

While many states recently relaxed their orders, not all of them have. One of our major vendors, Flagzone LLC, located in Pennsylvania has been denied access to ship their products, even after filing a waiver to remain open and continue production as an essential business. Flagzone’s president tried to appeal the decision because the flag manufacturer had contracts across the country to supply counties with flags to be placed at veterans’ grave sites in honor of Memorial Day.

Flagzone was in the process of focusing on the production of face masks when they were ordered to shut down by the governor of Pennsylvania. At the end of April, volunteers were ready to travel throughout Berks County, PA to place over 50,000 flags across 233 cemeteries but were unable to because of the governor’s orders.

Flagzone supplies us with our essential flags such as American, military, state, international, and historical. Our other vendors are working tirelessly to fulfill orders, while practicing social distancing. These companies are trying to catch up to demand, so products may be back-ordered.

Shipping times throughout the nation have been extended due to the vast amount of online orders people are placing to get their necessities. We thank you for your patience during this difficult and uncertain time. We are working diligently to get your orders to you as fast as we can.
