Description

Celebrate the nation of Cameroon with our high-quality national flag, an excellent choice for outdoor flying or indoor display.

Each flag is manufactured in the USA using nylon, a durable and weather-resistant material designed for outdoor use. The lightweight fabric dries quickly after rain, helping prevent mildew growth. The tricolor design and central star are digitally printed with UV-resistant inks for a bright, colorful design resistant to sun damage.

Our Cameroonian flag is equipped with a strong canvas header and brass grommets for attachment to an outdoor flagpole. The 3’ by 5’ flag is our most popular option and is an excellent match for our 6’ tangle-free pole.

Cameroon Flag Meaning & History

The first iteration of Cameroon’s current national flag was adopted in 1957, when it was just a green, red, and yellow tricolor without a star. The modern design was instituted in 1975, adding a yellow star known as ‘the star of unity.’

The colors used for the stripes traditionally symbolize Pan-Africanism, though each has a specific meaning as well. The green is for the forests in southern Cameroon, the yellow represents the sun and the savannas in northern Cameroon, and the red stands for unity, similar to the star.

Senegal Flag vs Cameroon Flag

The Senegal flag is almost identical to Cameroon's, except that the order of the colored stripes is altered, and the star on Senegal’s flag is green instead of yellow. Additionally, the meanings behind each color are different. The green stripe and star on Senegal’s flag stand for religion, the yellow for economic prosperity, and the red for the blood of the country’s citizens.
