Description
Honorably represent the capital of the United States with this flag of Washington DC!
Our American-made DC flags are made of nylon, a weather-resistant fabric built for indoor and outdoor use. Nylon is lightweight, ensuring your flag will fly proudly in gentle breezes. Its lightness also ensures that the material dries quickly after rain and humidity, helping prevent mildew growth.
Each flag is digitally printed with UV-resistant inks for bold color and resistance to sun damage. These District of Columbia flags come equipped with a robust canvas header and brass grommets for simple attachment to any standard outdoor flagpole. The 3’ by 5’ flag is our most popular option and fits great on our 6’ tangle-free flagpole.

DC Flag Meaning & History
The flag of the District of Columbia was designed by Charles Dunn, who based the design on George Washington’s coat of arms. The red stripes and stars we recognize today can be traced through Washington’s family to the 14th century. The coat of arms that preceded it had silver stripes and stars on a red background.
For many years, the District of Columbia did not have a distinct flag despite repeated efforts in Congress. It finally succeeded in 1938, when a special commission chose Charles Dunn’s design, which he had created in 1921.
