Interesting Facts: Easter eggs were first used by Mesopotamian Christians. They would dye eggs to represent the blood of Christ. The egg itself is a symbol of new life and a reminder of Christ's resurrection and the empty tomb. Other records of dying eggs indicate that people in the 13th century would decorate them during Lent, when eating eggs was forbidden, then eat them to celebrate the end of the fasting on Easter Sunday.
