Description
This French Polynesian flag is produced in the United States from nylon, a lightweight material that dries quickly after rain, helping prevent mildew growth. The stripes and national coat of arms are digitally printed for a precise and vivid design.
Each flag has a sturdy canvas heading and brass grommets for secure attachment to any of our outdoor flagpoles. We offer this flag in sizes 2’ x 3’, 3’ x 5’, 4’ x 6’, 5’ x 8’, and 6’ x 10’. French Polynesia Flag Meaning & History
The French Polynesian flag was adopted on November 23, 1984, replacing the French maritime flag. In the center is the national coat of arms, which depicts a sailing canoe with the sun above and the sea below. The five figures on the canoe represent the five major island groups that make up French Polynesia.
The red stripes at the top and bottom of the flag are drawn from the previous 1939 coat of arms, which depicted a yellow ship on a red and white striped shield.
