Look at our table of standard pole heights and their recommended proportional flag size to help determine which option is right for you.

French Polynesia Flag Meaning & History

The French Polynesian flag was adopted on November 23, 1984, replacing the French maritime flag. In the center is the national coat of arms, which depicts a sailing canoe with the sun above and the sea below. The five figures on the canoe represent the five major island groups that make up French Polynesia.

The red stripes at the top and bottom of the flag are drawn from the previous 1939 coat of arms, which depicted a yellow ship on a red and white striped shield.
