Description
Our Icelandic flag is constructed in the USA using nylon, a robust material built for outdoor flying. Nylon is tough yet remains light enough to fly easily in gentle breezes. The iconic red Nordic cross and dark blue background are digitally printed for rich, fade-resistant colors, helping minimize damage from direct sunlight.
These flags come with a sturdy canvas header and brass grommets for secure flying from any of our outdoor flagpoles. We offer our Iceland flags in sizes 2’ x 3’, 3’ x 5’, 4’ x 6’, 5’ x 8’, and 6’ x 10’. The 3’ x 5’ size is a bestseller among our customers and a great fit for our tangle-free house-mounted pole.

Iceland Flag Meaning & History
The first national flag of Iceland was a simple white cross on a dark blue background, used in a parade in 1897. In 1915, the red center of the cross was added. This updated design was officially adopted in 1918 when Iceland gained sovereignty from the Kingdom of Denmark.
The Nordic cross symbolizes Christianity, with the color red representing the activity of the island’s volcanoes. The white outline stands for the ice and snow of the region, and the blue is for the mountains, which appear to be blue when viewed from the coast.
