Killed In Action Flag Symbols & Meanings

In 1993, a veteran known as Ghost Soldier #3  founded a company that would sponsor their goal to mass-produce the first-ever KIA Flag to give families a way to honor America’s Fallen Heroes.

The flag is colored red to represent the bloodshed by our military. It is also accented with black to mourn the loss of our men and women killed in battle. The silhouette in the center is a soldier going into battle to bring home a fallen comrade. The oval that surrounds this silhouette is known as the honor ground.
