Description

Our Liberia flags are constructed in the United States from high-quality nylon, a lightweight fabric that flies beautifully, even in light breezes. These flags dry quickly after rain and contact with water, making them ideal for outdoor display. The star and stripes are digitally printed for sharp lines and vivid colors that are resistant to sun damage.

These flags come equipped with a sturdy canvas heading and brass grommets for secure mounting on any of our outdoor flagpoles. We offer Liberian flags in sizes 2’ x 3’, 3’ x 5’, 4’ x 6’, 5’ x 8’, and 6’ x 10’. Check out our table of standard flagpole heights and their matching proportional flag size for reference.

Liberia Flag Meaning & History

Liberia’s flag is heavily based on the flag of the United States since the nation was founded by freed Black Americans. During Liberia’s time as a colony of the US, the regional flag was almost identical to the modern design but had a large white plus sign in the canton instead. The flag was redesigned in 1847 to celebrate the country’s upcoming independence.

The eleven red and white stripes represent the signatories who signed the Liberian Declaration of Independence. The dark blue square symbolizes Africa, while the white star stands for Liberia’s status as the first independent republic on the continent.
