Description

Proudly represent the state of Louisiana outside your home or business with a vibrant, premium flag!

Our Louisiana flags are manufactured in the United States from durable nylon fabric, a weather-resistant material designed for outdoor use. Nylon is lightweight, allowing your flag to fly regally in gentle breezes and dry quickly after rain to help prevent mildew growth. The iconic pelican emblem is digitally printed for intricate details and bold, fade-resistant colors.

Our Louisiana state flags, sized 6’ by 10’ and under, come equipped with a sturdy canvas heading and brass grommets for easy mounting on any standard outdoor flagpole. The canvas heading provides strong support for the flag, reducing the risk of tearing, while brass grommets are resistant to rust and wear, making them ideal for outdoor use. Flags that are sized 8’ by 12’ and up are instead finished with heavy-duty nylon rope and thimbles for added security.

Louisiana Flag Meaning & History

Since 1812, when Louisiana first joined the Union, the state has had nine different flags. However, the pelican seen on the flag today has been a symbol of Louisiana since the year of its statehood. In 1912, the state legislature recognized the pelican design as the official LA flag during the state's centennial. The flag later received a more artistic and multicolored rendering in 2010.

The pelican tearing at itself to feed its young represents self-sacrifice and is dedicated to Louisianan descendants. The words below, “Union, Justice & Confidence,” are the Louisiana state motto.
