Description
Proudly fly the state flag of New Mexico with our high-quality New Mexico flags!
Our New Mexico flags are made in the USA from premium nylon, making them durable and weather-resistant. Additionally, nylon is lightweight, meaning your flag will fly regally even in gentle breezes. The iconic sun symbol and vibrant yellow background are digitally printed to form a UV- and heat-resistant flag. This helps prevent fading, even when flown in full sunlight.
Each New Mexico flag, sized 6’ by 10’ or smaller, comes with a sturdy canvas header and brass grommets for easy attachment to any standard outdoor flagpole. The 3’ by 5’ flag is our bestselling option, and an excellent fit for our 6’ house-mounted tangle-free pole. Flags that measure 8’ by 12’ and larger are instead finished with nylon rope and thimbles for heavy-duty use.

New Mexico Flag Meaning & History
The New Mexican flag was officially adopted on March 19, 1925, following a contest held across the state in 1923. It was designed by Harry Mera, an archaeologist, with the first copy sewn by his wife, Reba. Mera based the flag's design on a piece of pottery he had collected, which the Zia Pueblo people of the region had created.
The flag’s symbol is of a sun, with the number of rays representing the sacredness of the number four. According to the Zia people, four symbolized the circle of life, the four cardinal directions, and the four seasons.
