Progress Pride Flag Meaning & History
The Progress Pride flag was first created in 2018 by Daniel Quasar. Its design is a variant of Gilbert Baker’s rainbow flag from 1978, and AJ Hikes’ Philadelphia Pride flag from 2017. The Progress Pride flag uses the original rainbow flag as its base, with an overlay of five chevron triangles on the left. The white, pink, and blue stripes are in reference to the transgender flag, while the brown and black stripes are inspired by the Philadelphia Pride flag, representing LGBT+ people of color.
