Description
Display the official flag of Turkey as a symbol of the nation’s history and heritage.
Our Turkish flags are made in the United States from 100% nylon. Nylon is a lightweight, durable material ideal for outdoor flying. Its lightness allows it to fly easily in gentle breezes, and it dries quickly after becoming wet, helping to prevent mildew growth. The star and crescent design is created with advanced digital print technology and UV-resistant inks, resulting in bold colors that resist fading from sun exposure.
These flags come equipped with a sturdy canvas header and brass grommets for attaching to a tangle-free flagpole or in-ground flagpole. The 3’ by 5’ Turkish flag is our most popular option and an excellent fit for our 6’ house-mounted flagpole.

Turkey Flag Meaning & History
Turkey’s flag has a long history, as its design is similar to that adopted by the Ottoman Empire in 1793. However, this flag had a thinner crescent moon and an eight-pointed star. The design we know today wasn’t used until 1844, when the moon's shape was changed, and the star became five-pointed instead. The design was last standardized on May 29, 1936.
The story behind the crescent moon and star on the flag dates back to Osman I, who founded the Ottoman Empire in the 14th century. One night, while Osman was sleeping, he dreamed that the father of the woman he wanted to marry, Sheikh Edebali, turned into a moon. When the moon went back down, a tree grew in its place, creating a forest beneath a sky full of stars and a half-moon.
