Our US Air Force Wings flag is made in the USA from nylon, a durable and lightweight fabric that can fly regally in gentle breezes. The white winged design and dark blue background are digitally printed with UV-resistant inks for bold colors that resist fading, even when flown in direct sunlight.
Each flag measures 3’ by 5’, making it an excellent fit for our best-selling 6’ tangle-free flagpole. Easily install your new flag using the attached canvas heading and two brass grommets.

Air Force Wings Flag Meaning & History
Unlike the US Air Force's primary flag, which depicts the branch’s seal, the Air Force Wings flag uses one of the branch’s public logos instead. In 1999, the Air Force hired an advertising agency to develop a new logo and tagline for the branch after a recruiting shortfall. The new design, known as the ‘Wings’, was introduced to several Air Force bases in 2001. After a few years of continuous adoption, the symbol was officially designated as one of the Air Force’s public logos in 2004.
The Wings design is based on the ‘Hap Arnold Wings,’ the original Army Air Forces insignia from 1942. The insignia was drawn by James T. Rawls, who was inspired by Winston Churchill’s V for Victory hand sign.
