Description

Constructed from high-quality nylon, our Austrian flag with Eagle has a lightweight, quick-drying design. This helps prevent mildew growth after rain and means that your flag will fly regally, even in gentle breezes. The coat of arms and classic stripes are digitally printed for bold, UV-resistant colors, and to ensure that each intricate detail is depicted.

Our flags come equipped with a strong canvas heading and brass grommets for secure mounting on any of our outdoor flagpoles. We offer this flag in sizes 2’ x 3’, 3’ x 5’, and 4’ x 6’, with the standard flag size 3’ x 5’ being a great fit for our free-spinning house-mounted pole.

Austria Flag with Eagle Features

  • Proudly made in the USA

Austrian Flag with Eagle Meaning & History

The coat of arms featuring a black eagle has been used by Austria since 1919, during the First Republic of Austria. The eagle itself is a symbol of national sovereignty. On its head is a “mural crown,” a headpiece representing city walls, which in the coat of arms symbolizes the country’s middle class. In the eagle’s talons are a sickle for the nation’s farmers and a hammer for the workers.

During World War II, this design was replaced with a double-headed eagle. Following the end of the war in 1945 and the establishment of the Second Republic of Austria, the original eagle returned, with broken chains around its legs symbolizing liberation.
