Our CIA flags are made in the USA from nylon, a durable and weather-resistant fabric designed for outdoor use. The nylon used in our flags is lightweight, allowing it to fly regally in gentle breezes and dry quickly after becoming wet, which helps prevent mildew growth. The agency’s emblem is digitally printed with fade-resistant inks for vibrant colors and precise details.
Each flag is equipped with a sturdy canvas heading and two brass grommets for easy attachment to any of our outdoor flagpoles. The CIA flag is available in the sizes 3’ by 5’ and 4’ by 6’, which we recommend displaying on 20’ and 25’ tall flagpoles, respectively.

Central Intelligence Agency Flag Meaning & History
The CIA flag depicts the agency’s seal, which was created by the US Army Heraldic Branch. President Truman approved it on February 17, 1950.
The seal features a white shield at its center, symbolizing defense and the agency’s mission. Inside the shield is a red compass rose, representing how the agency collects information from worldwide sources into a single location. Above the shield is the head of a bald eagle, which refers to the country’s national bird and shows that the CIA is constantly on alert.
