Description

Represent the People’s Republic of China in any outdoor or indoor environment with our high-quality flags of China!

Our China flags are manufactured in the United States from premium nylon fabric. Nylon is a lightweight material that flies easily, creating a regal display even in gentle breezes. Thanks to their nylon construction, these flags also dry quickly after becoming wet, which helps prevent mildew growth and increases their outdoor durability.

The deep red background and iconic golden stars are added using advanced digital printing technology with UV-resistant inks, creating bright, vibrant colors that resist fading due to sun damage.

Each flag of China comes equipped with a sturdy canvas heading and brass grommets for secure mounting on any of our outdoor flagpoles. We offer the Chinese flag in a wide variety of sizes, including the standard 3’ by 5’ size, ideal for flying on our 6’ tangle-free pole. Look at our table of flagpole heights and their matching flag size to determine which option is best for your situation.

China Flag Meaning & History

China’s flag, also known as the ‘Five Star Red Flag,’ was adopted on October 1, 1949, when the People’s Republic of China was founded. In July of that year, the transitional government, preparing for the founding of the PRC, began a nationwide competition for flag designs. Zeng Liansong, a CCP member, created the winning design of around 3,000 submissions. His initial proposal had a red hammer and sickle icon within the largest star, which was removed before the design was adopted since it was too similar to the flag of the USSR.

The red background symbolizes the Communist Revolution in China, while the largest yellow star stands for the national government. The smaller stars on its right represent the traditional ‘four occupations’: scholars, peasants, workers, and merchants. According to Zeng, the inspiration for the stars came to him while he was designing the flag in his attic and looking out at the night sky.
