Description

Our flag of Timor Leste is constructed from premium nylon fabric, a lightweight material that flies regally in even mild winds. This nylon also dries quickly after rain, which helps to prevent mildew growth, greatly increasing the lifetime of your flag. Additionally, the design is digitally printed for vivid, bright colors that are resistant to sun damage.

These flags come equipped with a durable canvas heading and brass grommets for secure attachment to any of our outdoor flagpoles. We offer the East Timor flag in sizes 2’ x 3’, 3’ x 5’, 4’ x 6’, 5’ x 8’, and 6’ x 10’. Refer to our table of standard flagpole heights and their matching flag size for recommendations on which size to get.

East Timor Flag Meaning & History

The flag of East Timor was first designed on November 28, 1975, the day before the country declared independence. The country would soon be invaded by Indonesia a few days later, and the flag became a symbol of resistance. East Timor gained independence in 2002 and officially adopted the flag as its national symbol.

The red background represents the struggle for liberation and the bloodshed in the fight for independence. The black triangle symbolizes the nation’s history as a colony, while the surrounding yellow stands for the wealth of the country. The white star is for peace and hope.
