The Iraq flag consists of three equal horizontal stripes of red, white, and black arranged from top to bottom.  The inscription in Kufic script “Allāhu akbar” which means “God is great” is arranged horizontally in the center of the white stripe.

The tricolors of the flag have been in use since 1963, but the green symbols have changed over the years, the most recent change being in 2008.
