Description

Honor this Eastern Arabian state with your own flag of Kuwait.

Our Kuwait flags are made in the United States from nylon, a quick-drying, mildew-resistant material. Nylon is also lightweight, allowing your flag to fly easily in gentle breezes while remaining durable for outdoor use. The striped design is created using digitally printed, UV-resistant inks, resulting in bright, vibrant colors that resist fading due to sun damage.

Each flag comes equipped with a strong canvas header and brass grommets for easy attachment to any of our outdoor flagpoles. We offer Kuwaiti flags in the sizes 2’ x 3’, 3’ x 5’, 4’ x 6’, 5’ x 8’, and 6’ x 10’. If you aren’t sure which size is the right choice for your setup, check out our table of standard flagpole heights and their recommended flag size.

Kuwait Flag Meaning & History

Kuwait’s flag was first adopted on September 7, 1961. Previously, Kuwait had flown a red and white flag similar to those of other Persian Gulf countries such as Bahrain and Qatar

Kuwait was under the Ottoman Empire's rule during the 19th century, so it used the same flag, which featured a white crescent moon and a star on a red background. The same flag was used during World War I, where friendly fire broke out among the allied Kuwaiti and British soldiers, who had confused them with the opposing Ottoman forces. Thus, a new flag for Kuwait was adopted, which was red with Kuwait’s name written out in Arabic. In 1961, a new flag was chosen that featured the Pan-Arab colors.

Red symbolizes the blood of war, white represents purity and noble actions, green is for Arabia’s fertile lands, and black depicts the defeat of enemies in battle. This symbolism is drawn from the writing of Safi al-Din al-Hilli, a 14th-century poet.
