Description

Celebrate Maine's beautiful landscapes by flying one of our Maine state flags!

These Maine flags are manufactured in America using top-quality nylon fabric. The nylon material is sturdy and durable yet lightweight enough to wave in light winds. The state seal is digitally printed with UV-resistant inks for bold, vibrant colors that resist fading, even when flown in direct sunlight.

Maine flags sized 6’ by 10’ and under come equipped with a strong canvas header and brass grommets for simple attachment to any of our outdoor flagpoles. Flags that measure 8’ by 12’ and larger are instead finished with nylon rope and thimbles for increased durability. Not sure which size is right for your display? Refer to this table of recommended pairings we've compiled to help you determine which flag size to choose for your pole.

Maine Flag History & Meaning

Maine’s flag was first adopted in 1901 and consisted of a pine tree and a blue North Star on a light tan background. At the time, Maine was the northernmost state, represented by the North Star imagery.

The 1901 flag was changed to the current official state flag in 1909. The modern flag’s coat of arms features symbols such as a moose and a pine tree emblem on a shield. The shield is flanked on either side by a sailor and a farmer, with a ribbon below reading the state’s name. Above the shield is the North Star and the Latin motto “Dirigo,” which means “I direct.”
