Panama Flag Meaning & History
Panama’s flag was first produced on November 3, 1903, after being created by Manuel Encarnación Amador and María de la Ossa de Amador. However, the original design flipped the modern design horizontally so that the blue rectangle was at the upper left corner. The flag’s design was changed to the current version in 1904 and was made official on March 25, 1925.
The red rectangle represents Liberals, while the blue is for the Conservatives. The white fields stand for purity and peace. The blue star symbolizes honesty, while the red star is for law and authority.
