Description

Our national flag of South Sudan is manufactured in America from nylon, a lightweight fabric that flies regally, even in gentle breezes. The tricolor, triangle, and star are digitally printed for a precise design and rich colors that are fade-resistant under direct sunlight.

Each flag has a robust canvas header and brass grommets for reliable mounting to any standard outdoor flagpole. We offer the South Sudan flag in the sizes 2’ x 3’, 3’ x 5’, 4’ x 6’, 5’ x 8’, and 6’ x 10’. Refer to our table of common pole heights and their proportional flag size if you aren’t sure which option to choose.

South Sudan Flag Meaning & History

The flag of South Sudan was first used in an official capacity in 2005 when a peace agreement was struck between the northern and southern sides in the Second Sudanese Civil War. A referendum was passed on July 9th, 2011, making South Sudan independent from Sudan and adopting the flag as the national banner.

The black stripe represents the South Sudanese people, the red is for the blood shed for independence, and the green is for agriculture and natural resources. The white lines between each stripe symbolize peace. The light blue triangle on the left represents the Nile, while the yellow star stands for unity and hope.
