The Spain flag, a tricolor rectangular flag consists of two smaller red stripes at the top and bottom with a yellow stripe that is twice the width of the red. Closer to the white canvas header with brass grommets, on the left-hand side, and in the middle of the yellow stripe, you will find the coat of arms of Spain. The coat of arms has a gold and red crown above the blazon. The blazon is separated into four parts. Each part represents the medieval kingdoms that came together to form the Spanish monarchy. On either side of the blazon, are the Pillars of Hercules with crowns on top of them. The motto “Plus Ultra” can be found on red banners that wrap around the pillars. On the flag’s left side (the hoisting side) are a canvas header and brass grommets for easy attachment to flagpoles.
