Description

Our state flag of Arkansas is the best way to display your Arkansawyer pride to the whole neighborhood! These flags are proudly made in America and are available in nylon or polyester fabric.

The iconic red, white, and blue design is digitally printed for bold, vibrant colors that are fade-resistant, helping prevent damage from UV rays.

Nylon Arkansas Flag

Nylon is the most common fabric used for flags and is an excellent weather-resistant option for outdoor display. This material is lightweight and flies regally, even in gentle breezes. Nylon’s lightness also means that it is quick-drying, helping prevent mildew growth after rain.

We offer nylon Arkansas flags in sizes 12” x 18”, 2’ x 3’, 3’ x 5’, 4’ x 6’, 5’ x 8’, 6’ x 10’, 8’ x 12’, 10’ x 15’, and 12’ x 18’. The 3’ x 5’ is our most popular size and is an excellent choice for flying on our 6’ tangle-free pole. Each flag comes equipped with a sturdy canvas header and brass grommets for easy flying on an outdoor flagpole. Flags sized 8’ x 12’ and up instead use nylon rope and thimbles for secure attachment.

Polyester Arkansas Flag

Polyester is a tougher, heavier material than nylon and is intended for use in environments with severe weather conditions. We recommend buying a polyester flag if you live in a region with high winds or on the coast. Please note that polyester flags are too heavy to fly from house-mounted flagpoles. The polyester Arkansas flag is available in the size 3’ x 5’.

Arkansas Flags Feature:

  • Made in America
  • Official 2011 design
  • Strong canvas heading
  • Rust-resistant brass grommets

8’ x 12’ and Up Sized AR Flags:

  • Nylon rope instead of grommets
  • Galvanized thimbles
  • Extra stitching on fly-end corners

If you plan to iron your flag to remove any wrinkles, we recommend reading our flag ironing instructions first.

Arkansas Flag Meaning & History

When the USS Arkansas entered service in 1912, a local chapter of the Daughter of the American Revolution requested a state flag from the Secretary of State to display on the ship. However, no state flag for Arkansas yet existed. Thus, the chapter and Secretary began a competition for state flag designs.

Willie Hocker, a local schoolteacher and chapter member, submitted the winning design. On February 26, 1913, her submission was adopted as the official state flag.

The 25 white stars in the blue stripe represent the fact that Arkansas was the 25th state to join the Union on June 15, 1836. The three blue stars inside the diamond, below the text “Arkansas,” symbolize the three countries the state has belonged to (France, Spain, and the USA), while the lone star above the name commemorated Arkansas’ membership in the Confederacy. The diamond shape symbolizes the state as the most significant producer of diamonds in the US.
