Description

Fly the iconic flag of British Columbia to celebrate its rich heritage and stunning natural beauty! Each flag is made in the United States from nylon, a tough and weather-resistant fabric designed for extended outdoor use. Nylon is also lightweight, meaning it can fly easily, even in gentle breezes.

The unique Union Jack and sun design is added using precision digital printing technology. This ensures bright, vibrant colors, as well as intricate details and sharp lines. The inks used in this flag’s production are UV-resistant, which helps prevent fading.

Our British Columbia flag features a robust canvas header and brass grommets for simple mounting on any standard outdoor flagpole. We offer this flag in the size 3’ by 5’, which we recommend flying on our 6’ tangle-free pole for a striking display.

British Columbia Flag History & Meaning

Until 1960, British Columbia was represented by a British Blue Ensign with the province’s seal on the right. On June 14, 1960, the modern flag of British Columbia was adopted, based on a coat of arms designed by Arthur John Beanlands in 1906.

The flag features a modified version of the Union Jack at the top, with a gold crown in the center representing its history as a Crown colony. Below the Jack is a setting sun in front of white and blue waves. The sun symbolizes British Columbia’s status as Canada’s westernmost province and refers to the phrase ‘the sun never sets on the British empire.’ The waves in the background represent the nearby Pacific Ocean.
