7TH CAVALRY GUIDON HISTORY

The 7th Cavalry regiment of the United States Army was founded in 1866 and has since participated in every major American conflict, including the late 19th-century Indian Wars, World War I & II, the Korean War, Vietnam War, and the ongoing War on Terror. The 7th Cavalry’s most famous (or infamous) conflict was the Indian War. Its involvement in that conflict culminated with the Battle of Little Big Horn in Montana - Custer’s Last Stand. The battle took place in June 1876 and was one of the final battles of the American Indian Wars.

Frequently Bought Together:

The Cavalry Guidon flag is based on the American flag, with a blue field in the top left corner, with 13 alternating red and white stripes. Major differences are: a large triangle cut horizontally out of the right side of the flag, known as a swallow-tail, and the 35 stars in the blue field are yellow and arranged in two concentric circles with one star in each of the four corners of the rectangular blue field. On the left edge of the flag is a header with rust-proof grommets for raising on a flagpole.
