7TH CAVALRY GUIDON HISTORY
The 7th Cavalry regiment of the United States Army was founded in 1866 and has since participated in every major American conflict, including the late 19th-century Indian Wars, World War I & II, the Korean War, Vietnam War, and the ongoing War on Terror. The 7th Cavalry’s most famous (or infamous) conflict was the Indian War. Its involvement in that conflict culminated with the Battle of Little Big Horn in Montana - Custer’s Last Stand. The battle took place in June 1876 and was one of the final battles of the American Indian Wars.
