Indonesia Flag Meaning & History

The colors red and white are based on the royal colors of the Majapahit Empire, which existed from the 13th to 16th centuries. They were brought back into popular use during the early 20th century as a sign of Indonesian nationalism under Dutch rule. The flag was officially adopted on August 17, 1945, when Indonesia declared independence. The red represents courage, while the white is for purity.

Monaco vs Indonesia Flag

The flags of Monaco and Indonesia have very similar designs, with the main differences being that the red on Monaco’s flag is slightly darker and the flag’s shapes have different dimensions.
