Description

Our Kenyan flags are constructed in the USA using high-quality nylon, a lightweight fabric designed to fly beautifully even in gentle breezes. Nylon is also quick to dry, which helps to prevent mildew growth after rain and wet weather. The stripes and shield symbol are digitally printed for accuracy and rich, fade-resistant colors.

The flag of Kenya has a robust canvas heading and brass grommets for secure hoisting on one of our outdoor flagpoles. We offer this flag in sizes 2’ x 3’, 3’ x 5’, 4’ x 6’, 5’ x 8’, and 6’ x 10’. The 3’ x 5’ Kenyan flag is our bestselling size and an excellent fit for our tangle-free house-mounted flagpole.

Kenya Flag Features:

Kenya Flag Meaning & History

The Kenyan national flag was adopted on December 12, 1963, after declaring independence from the British Empire. The flag’s design was based on the banner of the Kenya African National Union, the main political party in the struggle for sovereignty.

The black stripe stands for the nation’s people, red for the bloodshed in the fight for independence, and green for the region's natural resources. The colors of black, red, and green are also closely associated with Pan-Africanism. The white lines, or fimbriation, symbolize peace and honesty. In the center is a Maasai shield and two spears, representing self-defense.
