Description
Celebrate Virginia’s rich history and stunning landscapes with this premium state flag!
Our state flag of Virginia is manufactured in the USA from lightweight nylon, designed to fly majestically even in light breezes. Nylon is weather-resistant, and its lightness allows it to dry quickly after rain and humidity, helping to prevent mildew growth. The state seal is digitally printed for intricate, precise details and bold colors that are fade-resistant, even when flown outdoors.
Virginia flags sized 6’ by 10’ and under come equipped with a sturdy canvas header and brass grommets for simple and secure attachment to any standard outdoor flagpole. The 3’ by 5’ state of Virginia flag is the most popular among our customers and an excellent fit for our 6’ tangle-free pole. Flags that measure 8’ by 12’ and larger are instead outfitted with strong nylon rope and thimbles for increased durability.

Virginia Flag Meaning & History
Virginia was one of the original 13 British American colonies. In fact, many of the United States' founding fathers were born in Virginia. It became the 10th state to join the Union in 1788 as the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Virginia’s state flag, designed by American sculptor Charles Keck and featuring the Virginia state seal, was adopted in 1912. The seal has undergone many design changes since the founding of the Commonwealth of Virginia, resulting in different Virginia flags flying about with an inaccurate state seal design. The Virginia legislature standardized the seal and flag in 1950 to clear up the confusion.
The motto “Sic Semper Tyrannis,” or “Thus Always to Tyrants,” is featured on the seal as a reference to Virginia’s revolutionary roots. The figure striking down a king on the VA state flag symbolizes virtue, representing Virginia’s role in resisting British tyranny during the American Revolution.
