Rhode Island State Flag Facts
- On March 30, 1877, Rhode Island adopted its first nonmilitary flag
- February 1, 1882, that flag was replaced by a more straightforward design. This simpler design featured a blue field with a yellow anchor surrounded by a ring of 13 yellow stars
- On May 19, 1897, the current flag was put into use.
