HISTORY OF THE UNITED STATES SPACE FORCE
In a sense, we’ve always had a Space Force -- we just didn’t call it that. What is known today as the United States Space Force is a renamed branch of the Air Force. The National Defense Authorization Act for 2020 redesignated Air Force Space Command as the US Space Force and established it as an independent branch of the US Armed Forces on December 20, 2019.

DOES THE SPACE FORCE HAVE A FLAG?
Yes! During an Oval Office ceremony, the United States Space Force flag was adopted on May 15, 2020. The official Space Force flag is based on the Space Force seal, using the same Delta triangle, globe, orbit, and star symbols. Under the emblem is the text “UNITED STATES SPACE FORCE” and “MMXIX,” which stands for 2019, the year the Space Force was created.
