These USA Flags are Lock Stitched
Our US flags are finished using lock-stitching, which is a stronger and more durable stitch than chain-stitching, which is often used in other sewn American flags for sale. If a chain stitch breaks, the whole stitch can unravel, while lock stitches stay secure even if one of them breaks.
And Fully Sewn
Each stripe is individually sewn together instead of printed on one piece of fabric. This process creates a high-quality and authentic flag built to withstand outdoor conditions. Additionally, this process pays homage to the manufacturing techniques used for early American flags.

Which American Flag Material is Right for Me?
Not sure which American flag material to choose? Here’s a quick guide based on where you live and how you plan to fly your flag—plus tips to help it last longer. For more detailed tips, check out our blog on flag materials.
Nylon American Flags - Best Option for General Use
- Why? Lightweight, quick-drying, mold and UV-resistant. This 200-denier nylon is the longest-lasting nylon fabric available.
- Perfect for: Residential or commercial buildings, yards, and porches.
- Climates:
- Rainy or Humid (e.g., Florida, Pacific Northwest)
- Hot & Dry Regions (e.g., Southwest)
- Moderate Climates (e.g., Midwest, Inland Northeast) during Spring & Summer
- Urban / Low-Wind Areas
- Tip: Bring it inside during storms!
Polyester American Flags - High Winds & Saltwater Regions
- Why? Heavy-duty and built to take on salt, wind, and weather.
- Perfect for: In-ground flagpoles near the ocean or anywhere winds get wild.
- Climates:
- Coastal & Windy Areas (e.g., Gulf Coast, New England Shore)
- High Elevation & Windy (e.g., Rockies, Appalachians)
- Moderate Climates (e.g., Midwest, Inland Northeast) during Fall & Winter
- Tip: Go smaller to reduce wind drag.
- Warning: Polyester flags are too heavy to be flown from house-mounted flagpoles.
Cotton American Flags - Vintage & Funeral Use
- Why? Classic feel and ideal for indoor displays, funerals, and tradition.
- Only Available In: 3’ x 5’ and 5’ x 9½’ (casket size)
- Note: Cotton degrades quickly outdoors, which limits flying time.

What is the Right Size Flag for My Flagpole?
Our most popular flag size is 3’ x 5’, perfect for poles up to 20’ and residential poles. For taller poles, choose a flag about one-quarter the height of the pole.
Most outdoor flags include grommets, and larger sizes come with rope. We recommend attaching additional grommets for a wall or fence display.
